【摘要】:Thistestmethodisusefulforthecharacterizationofthermoplasticsandthermoplasticcompounds,intermsofviscosity,orresistancetoflow.Thedataproducedbythistestmethodhasbeenfoundusefulinbothquality-controltestingandcompounddevelopment.However,directcorrelationwithfactoryconditionsisnotimplied.Flow-performancedatapermitsqualitycontrolofincomingthermoplasticsandthermoplasticcompoundsbecausetheflowparametersaresensitivetomolecularweightandmolecular-weightdistribution.Therefore,thistestmethodmaydistinguishdifferencesbetweenlots.Theshearviscosityorflowviscosityofthermoplasticsandthermoplasticcompoundswillnotonlybesensitivetotheraw-polymermolecularproperties,butwillalsobeaffectedbythetypeandamountoffiller,additive,plasticizer,orstabilizer,bythetypeofcopolymerblend,andbytheadditionofothercompoundingmaterials.Thistestmethodcanserveasaquality-controltoolforeitherincomingmaterialsorforin-housequality-assurancechecksonproductionmixing.Thistestmethodisusefultotheresearchanddevelopmentofnewproductsinthattherheologicalbehaviorofayetuncharacterizedthermoplasticorthermoplasticcompoundcanbemeasuredandconsideredforcomparativeanalysis.1.1Thistestmethodcoverstheuseofascrew-extrusion-typecapillaryrheometerforthemeasurementofflowpropertiesofthermoplasticsandthermoplasticcompounds.Themeasuredflowproperties,whichareobtainedthroughlaboratoryinvestigation,mayhelptodescribethematerialbehaviorthatoccursinfactoryprocessing.1.2Sinceascrew-typecapillaryrheometerimpartsshearenergytothematerialduringtesting,themeasurementswillusuallydifferfromthoseobtainedwithapiston-typecapillaryrheometer(seeTestMethodD3835).1.3CapillaryrheometermeasurementsforthermoplasticsandthermoplasticcompoundsaredescribedinTestMethodD3835.1.4ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.1.5Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.Note1--ThereiscurrentlynoequivalentISOstandard.
