【摘要】:Testsofthetypedescribedinthispracticemaybeusedtoevaluatethecorrosionresistanceoforganiccoatingsonmetalproductsexposedtohighlysaltyenvironments,suchasareassubjectedtodeicingsaltsorcoastalareas.Exposureconditionsarecomplexandchangeable.Importantfactorsincludeclimate,timeofyear,presenceofpollution,andsoforth.Generallyitisdifficult,ifnotimpossible,todefineormeasurepreciselyallthefactorsthatinfluencedegradation.Repeatedexposuretestingduringdifferentseasonsandoveraperiodofatleasttwoyearsisrequiredtoobtainresultsrepresentativeofanygivenlocation.Controlspecimensmustalwaysbeusedbecausethisisacomparativetest.1.1Thispracticeisdesignedtoassistprocedurestobefollowedwhenconductingoutdoorexposurestoevaluatecosmeticcorrosionthatmightoccurinsteelpanelscoveredwithanorganiccoatingthathasbeendamaged.TheoutdoorexposuresdescribedarebasedonPracticeG7andincludeperiodicwettingofthetestspecimenswithasaltsolution.1.2Themethodsofpreparingtestspecimensandtheparticularexposurerequirementsofmaterialsarebeyondthescopeofthispractice.1.3ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.1.4Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
